About Dutch Creek Outdoor Authentic Products
The word “authentic” appears in our double horseshoe logo because being genuine is something important to us. Company founders Jack Charvat and Frank Cooper have rich career histories in product development for some of the largest companies and best-known brands in the outdoor industry. Their passion for getting products “right” is obvious in everything they touch. Both men have proven track records of relentless pursuit in providing quality items that serve real purposes for those who enjoy getting outdoors as much as they do. As a result, you can rest assured that anything that bears the Dutch Creek name will always be items that have first satisfied the highest expectations of the company’s two most demanding critics – Charvat and Cooper. Welcome to Dutch Creek Brands.
The Dutch Creek Story
The Dutch Creek area of Arkansas, now known as Hale Town (Scot County), was homesteaded by Jack Charvat’s great-great grandfather Hale in the 1850s. The creek that bordered the beautiful setting was the source of life for everything the farm had to offer: crops, cattle, fish and wild game.
The Hale family followed in the tradition of living off the land that the Cherokee Indians had started only a few decades early as the Trail of Tears brought them west. Ever since, the family’s roots have been planted deep in Arkansas soil, and the memories built there will live on forever in all Hale descendants.
Even today, every visit to Dutch Creek brings back vivid visions of spending quality time together with family and friends while fishing, swimming, and skipping stones. Our outings were simple then, requiring only a Zebco 33 and a Rebel Humpback lure. The fish were plentiful in the creek’s clear and warm waters, but so were the lessons of life. These are things that our now shared with our own children.
The Dutch Creek Outdoor Authentic brand now stands as a symbol of the lessons learned and the people who taught them. They are memories that will live on forever.
